Why you don’t need proof

Jane says - "it is too hard for me to stick with my drink plan" and then feels hopeless. Not a shocker that when she feels like this, she has a drink to escape from her own negative self-talk, and this reinforces her "drinking" neural pathway.

We all want to have proof that we are justified in believing something.

But this is backwards.

Remember the last time you signed up for a new program or diet, you didn't have any proof that you could make this work, but you felt hopeful.

The reason that you felt hopeful is that you had a thought like "this is different, this could work."

You didn't have any proof.

You had a different thought.

This is everything.

You can learn how to change your relationship with drinking when you learn how to critically examine your thoughts.

I am the perfect person to show you how because this is the work that I have done myself.

If you want to be next, schedule a time on my calendar for us to chat and I will get you started with something that actually works.

Take care,

Caroline
